very uncomfortable January 5, 2009 I was so excited to try this as it is touted as the "world's most comfortable" bathtub mat and I paid twice as much for it. NOT! I was shocked to discover you can feel the suction cups poking through and it is not comfortable to step on at all. Besides that, it doesn't stay flat and gets all bunched up when stepped on. I think I'll go back to the plain old flat kind we grew up with.
1 Pro vs. 3 Cons December 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The good thing about this mat is the cushioned comfort for your feet.
And now for the negatives: 1. The cushioning doesn't hold up very long and the mat becomes flat within two weeks of regular daily bathing.
2. The 54 suction cups do NOT hold the mat securely in place. NOT AT ALL. It slides around when you're taking a shower and floats to the top of the water when you're taking a bath.
3. Even with regular washings in the washing machine, the mat still mildews and then you're stuck with nasty looking stains.
When the mat is brand new, it's incredibly comfortable (but still dangerous) and then everything goes downhill from there.
A bathtub mat that works October 20, 2008 Perhaps some people who take baths instead of showers will find that this mat doesn't stay put with a tub full of water. (Try installing it by the method that follows, though - it might work.) But for shower takers, it's perfect. There are plenty of suction cups to keep it in place at all times: When you install it the first time in a DRY tub, press down on all the suction cups to settle them well. The mat is generously sized and plenty non-slip for standing on. I use Basic-H for showering, and that cleaner will give any surface the acid test when it comes to slipping. The cushion quality of the mat is especially kind to sensitive feet - mine appreciate it greatly. One of the best features for those of us who hate the mess of having to lift a mat after showering and hang it up to dry: This mat is constructed somewhat like soft chain mail, so it is full of holes that allow abundant air flow beneath. Consequently, it dries out completely underneath and never has to be lifted. If you do lift it, though, peel back the suction cups carefully so as not to rip the mat, because those cups are gripping! A revolution in bathtub mats. Highly recommended.
Works Great! September 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have no problems with this mat not sticking to my tub. This works really well for me. I bathe my two children, both under 3 years old, together in the tub and they don't slip or the mat does not come up. It stays in place. I find if you place a little bit of water under the mat first and then stick it down and leave it for a day to get really stuck works well for me.
Excellent Bathmat! July 14, 2008 I have this bathmat as does my Mom. I will say to the reviewers that don't like the way it suctions - it does not suction well at my Mom's house, but it suctions perfectly fine at my house. I think it has something to do with the surface of the tub.
Anyway, we have had our bathmat for 3 years and it has finally gotten worn - so I am buying the same mat to replace it. It is a very good length - a bit longer than standard, and soft for my children's bottoms. :) It also dries out and stores nicely.
