Amazon.com Review
For avid readers who have spent many an hour squinting in dim light, LightWedge created this innovative paperback book light. The book light lies flat on the book page, creating the impression that the book itself is aglow. Designed specifically for mass-market paperbacks, this book light minimizes readers' optical duress and discomfort while illuminating each word without distortion or glare.

Equipped with LED technology, this book light eliminates the hindrance of faulty or burnt out bulbs associated with many other book lights. Four AAA batteries power the book light for durations up to 40 hours, making it an ideal companion for a long flight or car ride. The book light features a high quality acrylic lens, a similar construction to that of a pair of reading glasses. Two levels of brightness enable readers to adjust the book light to suit particular environments and optical capabilities with a simple, one-touch button. For the best results, clean the book light like other optical equipment with a lens cleaner and a soft, micro-fiber cloth. Storing the book light within a book or a protective case prevents scratches, dust and other debris from obstructing the lens surface while extending the light's longevity. Batteries are not included with the book light. The book light measures 7-2/5 by 5-1/2 inches. --Jessica Reuling

5 out of 5 stars A great book light   March 22, 2004

I have been using the original Lightwedge for awhile (for Hardcovers) and when the new paperback version came out I was sure to buy it. It is just like the original Lighwedge, just smaller. It has two LEDs as well which I was afraid it would only be one. It definitely lights up the entire page very well. I used to use the Itty Bitty Book Light but didn't like using it for hardcovers because I felt it did not light the entire page well. For paperbacks it worked well but I like the Lightwedge much more for both paper and hardbacks. Although you should be careful because it is easy to scratch the plastic. I do not find it noticeable when you are reading against the page. If you hold it in the air you can see the scratches but when it is on the page you don't. I don't find it annoying to have to turn the page with as some people may have complained. It also looks real cool using it. If you want to try something new and are looking for a good book light this is definitely one to try.

5 out of 5 stars Lightwedge is Great!   June 11, 2006

I have had and used the lightwedge for about 5 years now and I love it.Being a bibliophile that enjoys reading in bed at night without disturbing my partner this is the perfect Booklight. I have tried every book light on the market and the Lightwedge is far superior to all others. My only regret is I didn't have one of these when I was a kid trying to read at night with a flashlight. The Lightwedge illuminates the entire page at once, not like other lights that have bright and dim spots.Plus ...when you find yourself getting sleepy just close the book on it and it makes the perfect bookmark.

5 out of 5 stars You light up my night   April 12, 2007

I wish I would have bought the regular one instead of the paperback version. I love this light. I can see everything and don't get the shadows hindering my reading. I prefer to read in bed and this allows me to do so without waking up dh.

5 out of 5 stars Best thing since sliced bread...so to speak   September 1, 2007

Honestly...I just love this book light! It looks cool, it's lightweight and now I can finally read in bed without disrupting my fiance since I have insomnia and reading until the wee hours of the morning is not unusual for me. Yes the plastic scratches easily and leaves fingerprints, but this in no way would give me cause to give it a lower rating. I found the first light to be too bright actually, so the lower setting is perfect for me. Some of the complaints from other reviews are petty...I can be pessimistic at times, but some of the complaints were ridiculous! If you read a lot in bed and if you have bed partners who don't stay up late, if you don't want to disrupt others around you, then this is perfect! I would find this a better solution to using on an airplane than the overhead lights as well. And this light serves as a great bookmark! Nuff said...buy it!

5 out of 5 stars Best book light   November 4, 2004

I've used a couple of other types of book lights before purchasing the LightWedge & I definitely think this is the best option out there. For once reading in the dark doesn't feel like a strain on my eyes since it evenly lights up the whole page. And unlike the other lights, this one gives a nice clear white light that illuminates the whole page. One other advantage is that other book lights seem to zap a lot of battery power quickly, with this one I am still enjoying full light strength with many hours of reading. I bought the light to use when traveling, but I'm already enjoying it at home.
