Fantastic product June 26, 2003 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
When I lived in CA we had very hard water. I purchased a fairly expensive two-stage filtration system that mounted under the sink thinking this would be the greatest tasting water ever. I was wrong. The water still had a metallic taste. When I tried a Brita Pitcher I was extremely impressed. They are the only company that uses silver oxide pellets in the filter, which act as a water softener and work well with hard CA water. I've since moved to GA where the water is much softer, but these filters make such a noticable difference it is incredible. If you change the filter every 5 weeks or so you will be very happy with the results. I've been using the same pitcher for about 7 years now and it is still in great shape.
As good as bottled, or better November 27, 2002 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
The Brita system is the best I've seen for home filtration. The water tastes pure and clean. I would recommend this for anyone and the savings over bottled water is astounding. In many cases, it even tastes better.Contrary to advertisement, this system is very quick and easy. We are giving this as gifts to our family this year for Christmas.
No problems here. November 1, 2005 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have owned this pitcher for over a year and have never had a problem with it leaking.
Saves Me So Much Money! May 22, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I live in military housing that's been around since WW2. Even though they've FINALLY decided to get around to changing the water pipes, I'm still not too thrilled about drinking the tap water.
Anyways, for the past few years, my family has been using bottled water. I estimate that we easily spent about 1/2 a grand on it a year. On just WATER!!!
At the store, I came across one of these and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did!
For one thing, the product itself is not that expensive, and maintaining it is cheap since you only need to replace the $3-$4 filter every 4 weeks.
I was so impressed with it, I rushed out and bought a 2nd, so I could have one pitcher for the refrigerator and the other available at the counter.
I really like the filter replacement indicater on it. It's easy to set and with how busy my life gets, buying filters is the last thing on my mind. So, it's nice having this there as a reminder.
I also like that it's dishwasher safe. (except for the top part, due to the filter replacement indicater-but that can be easily hand washed) So, every few days, I just put it through the dishwasher and it gets it nice and clean.
The only drawback is that it's hard for my grade school and pre school kids to use, so it's not very kid friendly. So, I have to pour for them every time they're thirsty, but it's not a big deal to me, so I won't dock any stars from my rating.
I highly recommend this for anyone who won't drink tap water!
This is good stuff! November 26, 2003 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My husband and I received the Brita as a wedding gift. We absolutely love it. We live in Southern California and the tap water really is awful, we were living off of Arrowhead but now we actually prefer our Brita. The water gets so cold, and filters through so quick and very very easy to use. The amount of money we save off bottled water is incredible. The filters are reasonable and we buy them in bulk at Costco. Its about a years supply for $25.00. You certainly couldn't say that about Bottled Water. I hope you enjoy!
