Turning this year's bounty of plums into preserves or pickling some hot chilies? This seven-piece canning set from Fagor has everything you'll need to get started on a canning project. The kit includes a canning rack that holds up to four jars at a time and fits within any Fagor 10-quart pressure cooker. When sterilization is complete, the plastic-coated jar lifter clutches jars tightly in its tongs and lifts them out of hot water without risk of slippage or burning while the magnetized vinyl-coated jar lifter safely removes the lids. The kit also includes a heavy-duty stainless-steel ladle for spooning stewed fruits or vegetables into the stainless-steel wide-mouth funnel and siphoning it into your jars. A long plastic tong frees bubbles from the jars before you seal them and a jar wrench, also vinyl-coated, tightens lids with force while simultaneously keeping hands cool and providing a firm grip. I love the funnel! Very sturdy and durable. The canning rack fits into one of my smaller stock pots which is nice for smaller batches. This is a nice set. They include a book with some recipes and color pictures. Beware if you've never canned before, The pictures under the "steps for pressure canning" were taken by someone who had no clue. Step 2. shows jar of food with someone removing bubbles, step 3. wipe rims of jars... shows empty jar turned upside down with someone wiping it, step 5 shows how the magnetic lid lifter works... except they are using it after the ring is on!. Anyway this is a great set anyway.

The products included everything I needed to start canning (other than the jars or pots". It included a stainless steel funnel I found amazingly useful for other kitchen tasks as well. It is a good product for people just starting out canning.

I had purchased a pressure cooker (Fagor 10 qt) without realizing that these accessories were really necessary. The kit includes everything that is needed to use the pressure cooker properly. All of the items are of good quality (metal funnel, rack, jar lifter etc). The only mistake I made was not taking advantage of the combination order (pressure cooker plus accessories).
