Amazon.com Review
For preserving the flavor and aroma of ground coffee, this container replicates the vacuum-sealed package the coffee (or beans) comes in. After opening the package, simply pour the coffee into the container, place the pump on the lid's rubber stopper, and pump the air out of the container. When coffee is needed, pinch the stopper and remove the lid. Then reseal by pumping the air out again. The plastic container holds about 1/2 pound of ground coffee and stands 5 inches high (without the lid). While it's ideal for coffee, the container is perfect also for any food that loses freshness quickly when exposed to air, such as chocolate, crackers, and nuts. For cleaning, the food saver can be dismantled easily. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Great Storage for Coffee Beans   June 1, 2006

I like the air tightness in this product. It keeps my coffee beans fresh. If I have trouble with the seal leaking, I clean the rim of the container and wipe of the rubber seal. It seals and holds the seal for days and even weeks when I'm gone!

This has a great benefit to preserving coffee after its been ground. This product is not the easiest too find. I've never seen it in a retail store anywhere--glad to have found it here at Amazon!

I got the Vacu Win starter set and a second canister for Christmas because I'm a coffee addict. I love coffee and this simple storage container helps me keep my coffee very very fresh. It's so simple to use and works wonders. No leaks and great negative pressure so I'm really happy!

5 out of 5 stars very useful in the kitchen   August 25, 2007

I am very pleased with the Vacu Vin Coffee Savers, my only regret is that they are not made in different sizes and larger containers. They have performed flawlessly.

5 out of 5 stars Great product   October 7, 2002
Does it take elbow grease? Sure it does. I figure it takes about 25 pumps to get a good seal. You can tell when a vacuum is forming because it gets harder to pump. It is NOT hard to do. It can't be any harder to hook it up to a machine and fiddle with the seal and controls. I mean, it's a manual system but it's much simpler and more convenient.

To open the canister is incrediably easy. The rubber stopper has a lip seal. Just pinch the stopper in a perpendicular direction to the lip and voila, the seal is broken and you can hear a hiss of air.
